Heidelberg Engineering Products Advanced Laser Imaging for Eye Diagnostics Since 1991, Heidelberg Engineering has set the pace for laser imaging and 3D analysis of the retina, starting with the Heidelberg Retina Tomograph (HRT) and its ability to analyze the optic nerve head and retinal nerve fiber layer. From that starting point, Heidelberg Engineering has introduced a steady stream of new and innovative retinal imaging modalities and image analysis software, culminating with the six mode SPECTRALIS® HRA+OCT. Heidelberg Engineering introduced the world’s first anterior segment OCT in 2001. From that modest beginning, Heidelberg Engineering quickly realized that great technological leaps could be made by combining technologies and creating new products that could do more than single technologies alone.
