Photocoagulators

Photocoagulators are used to manage glaucoma and retina disorders like diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. They deliver visible light through the clear "window" at the front of the eye to cauterize leaky blood vessels and other targets beneath the retina. Photocoagulators can be used either in outpatient clinics or operating rooms. Ellex photocoagulators deliver safe, predictable and consistent energy through a true, continuous-wave laser beam with active light regulation throughout the selected exposure time. They include the Solitaire, the Integre and the new Integre Duo.

Solitaire

The Ellex Solitaire is a full-featured, solid-state green laser system that is portable and versatile for use in both operating rooms and clinics. Compact and efficient, it is designed for use with a wide variety of industry- standard delivery systems and accessories. The Solitaire incorporates a true continuous wave laser beam and active light regulation that ensures consistent energy is delivered throughout the selected exposure time. The Solitaire can be configured with dual fiber ports that allow two delivery systems to be connected at the same time, as well as three memory options to store frequently used procedure settings.

Integre Duo

The Integre Duo is the first solid-state photocoagulator to deliver clinically proven red and green wavelengths. This advanced laser system makes it possible to instantly select either a red or green wavelength during retina treatments, which maximizes treatment options and ensures effective patient results. For common procedures like retinal photocoagulation, laser trabeculoplasty and iridotomy, the Integre Duo’s green wavelength provides the standard of care. The red wavelength produces less scatter for better transmission through a cloudy cornea or lens, provides deeper penetration for effective treatment of choroidal vessels, and enables the physician to treat in the presence of a minor hemorrhage.

Integre

To manage the intraocular pressure associated with open angle glaucoma, Ellex offers two Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) systems: Tango and Solo. SLT uses low energy light to target and irradiate melanin-rich cells in the trabecular meshwork without affecting the surrounding structure. In response, the body automatically rebuilds the meshwork, which increases aqueous outflow, restores normal function and reduces intraocular pressure.
